This covers two things: the website at 5spheresofempathy.com, and the platform at app.5spheresofempathy.com where drill and workshop results are read back.
They are run by Galeno Chua, trading as The 5 Spheres of Empathy, in Warsaw, Poland. For anything in here, write to hello@5spheresofempathy.com.
There is no analytics on this website. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no session recorder. Nobody is counting your visit and there is no profile of you being built from the pages you read.
Two things do reach other companies when you use the site:
Your name and email address, and whatever else that particular form asks for. These are held by MailerLite and used to send you what you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works.
This is self-scored. You are the only person who fills it in about yourself. It records:
This one is different, and the difference matters. Other people in the room score you and write about you. That is the point of the exercise, and it is worth being clear about what it means for your record.
Stored about you as a speaker:
Stored about you as a scorer: the cards you filled in about other people, with your email address and the name you typed attached.
Their sheet carries what the room wrote, so assume your words will be read by the person they are about. They are not shown anonymously by accident and they are not hidden either. Write accordingly.
Signing in is handled by Clerk, who hold your email address, your name and your password. If you sign in with Google instead, Google tells us your email address and basic profile details, which is all we ask them for. Your Google password is never seen by us or by Clerk.
The platform's own database holds:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name, email, company and job title | So a session has people in it rather than codes |
| Which cohorts and sessions you were in | To show you your own history |
| Your drill and quad records | Brought across from the session tools above |
| Figures worked out from them | Your readings over time. These are recalculated from the records and are never the only copy of anything |
| Who | What they hold |
|---|---|
| Netlify | The website, and the drill and quad records as they are collected |
| Railway | The platform and its database |
| Clerk | Sign-in details |
| Your email and basic profile, only if you choose to sign in with Google. Also video thumbnails and embedded video | |
| MailerLite | Mailing list details, and email that is sent to you |
These companies are in the United States and the European Union, so your details are stored in both.
Session records are kept so that you can look back at them, which is the main reason anybody wants them. They are not deleted on a timetable. If you want yours gone, ask and it goes.
Write to hello@5spheresofempathy.com and say which you want. You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, for something wrong to be fixed, or for it to be erased. No reason is needed.
There is one limit worth stating. In the Public Speaking Drill, the cards you wrote about other people are part of their record of their own session. Removing you removes your name and address from them. The scores and comments themselves stay on the sheet of the person they were written about, because taking them away would change their reading of a morning that actually happened.
If this changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and anyone with an account is told.
